Smile Train Book CoverFounded just 13 years ago, Smile Train is a charitable organization with a medical mission focused on solving a single problem...cleft lip and cleft palate deformities. Smile Train Atlas is a 144-page commemorative book dedicated to generous donors whose financial contributions bring smiles to more than 100,000 children a year in more than 80 of the poorest countries around the world.

Sprinkled with dozens of touching before-and-after pictures, this remarkable pictorial book illustrates how Smile Train builds relationships with partner hospitals and more than 2,600 surgeons around the world. From the frozen tundra of Siberia to the peaks of the Andes Mountains, from war torn countries in Africa to even a floating hospital in Bangladesh, and everywhere in between, this illustrated, photo-intensive atlas captures the amazing story of how this life-changing surgery enables thousands of children with this deformity to embrace hope and dignity for the first time. Bookhouse is proud to participate in the creation of this emotional, heart-touching book for an extraordinary organization.

Each work—four in all, so far—has found a privileged place on the Emory history bookshelf because of the superb quality of publication. Rob Levin and his staff not only understand the business of making books but also insist that their books read well, look good, and feel welcome to the hand. The Bookhouse Group makes the process a delightful journey for the author and for Emory.
